Silverlight will reach the end of support on October 12, 2021. Silverlight development framework is currently only supported on Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11, with support for Internet Explorer 10 ending on January 31, 2020. There is no longer support for Chrome, Firefox, or any browser using the Mac operating system. Close and re-open your web browser to allow Silverlight to load (in some instances it may be necessary to restart the computer). Try accessing your Mediasite lecture again. If you still experience problems at this stage check the browser plugin is enabled, as described below. Internet Explorer. Apr 17, 2021 Use Internet Explorer to continue accessing the Silverlight portal, or click here to access the non-Silverlight version Client Axcess using this browser. If you cannot or choose not to install Silverlight, you can access a Simplified Portal Login by clicking here. Open Internet Explorer and press Alt key. Click on Tools tab and verify if ActiveX Filtering is checked. If you see a tick mark next to ActiveX filtering then click on it, to uncheck ActiveX filtering. Method 2: Enable Microsoft Silverlight Add-on. Press Windows key + R to open the run command. Type inetcpl.cpl and click Enter.

Compatibility Add-on for Chrome or Firefox

There is a free browser extension called 'IE Tab' that runs Windows Internet Explorer (IE) components within a tab in Chrome or Firefox. This enables you to display web pages that use Silverlight (such as CTI Navigator Web) within your Chrome or Firefox browser, even if the browser itself does not correctly load Silverlight. The IE Tab also includes an 'Auto URL' filter and a Bookmarks feature that allow you to specify which URLs should always be loaded with IE Tab.

Even though it does not open the IE browser per se, IE Tab uses the IE Browser Control core engine. Therefore, to ensure full security when using IE Tab, the latest version of Internet Explorer should be installed on your computer and it should be kept up-to-date with the latest security patches from Microsoft.
